For thousands of Spanish users, paying for Bizum is now a standard practice. Many banks have already implemented this method of payment via their own apps: ING, BBVA and CaixaBank. Santander is just one example of almost all entities that operate in Spain.
Bizum has made changes to its platform over the past months. These changes concern daily and monthly limits on transactions between individuals. They range from 150 to 60 transactions every 30 days. These changes were made to improve security and ensure that the service is properly authorized and operated.
He said that banks set the general limits, so that every company that adheres can determine its own limit while still respecting established ones. Many entities have recently sent messages to their clients, such as Caixabank. “As indicated by the Bizum Terms & Conditions, Caixabank may establish changes in limits of use with an aim of increasing payment safety,” says the message from the bank company.
The maximum amount of shipments made with Bizum via the CaixaBank App in a single month since June 1 has been 5,000 euros. This limit will be restored on each month’s last day. Users could still make transfers up to this point with a minimum 0.50 euro and maximum 500 euros per operation per night, with a maximum of 20 per day and 30 per month.
Caixabank is the latest bank to join the Bizum list. Santander and ING don’t have a cap on how much money can be sent each month. However, they have a daily limit of 2,000 euros.
