Residents of Roquetas de Mar Urbanization rediscovered this weekend the ‘Car Boot Sale’ marketplace, which saw the sale of products made from car trunks. This event is a tradition in the Rock tourist area, but it was stopped for two years because of restrictions from the pandemic.
The Urba-Roquemar Neighborhood Association lifted the preventive measures and decided to revive the event. It celebrated its XIth edition, and was attended by both local residents and visitors from other parts of the province.
This unique method of selling second-hand and used objects originated in Europe. There, the idea of organizing the sale of items that are no longer desired is deeply rooted. The uniqueness of this method lies in its use of a private vehicle, specifically a trunk, to display and market the products.
