Maldonado Passage said to Juju Chang that “I am in jail and she can’t let me alone” referring to his 21 year sentence for the 2017 plot to murder Baskin. “… Carole: Find another reason to live than Joe Exotic. Because enough is enough.

Maldonado Passage denies that he paid $3,000 to two people, one of which was an FBI agent. Maldonado-Passage also denied that he had ever abused any animals while in his care.

He said “Absolutely no,” and denied his involvement in the murder-for hire plot. “How could you expect someone to travel from Oklahoma to Florida in order to find her, no matter how long it would take and return on $3,000?” This is ridiculous.

Maldonado Passage also talked about his health after revealed in November that Maldonado had been diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer and was suffering from COVID-19.

“I am losing weight really badly and the sores in the back of my mouth are too painful to bear.” He said that in the three-and-a half years that I have been in custody, 43 times have I been to the hospital. “I have very little to no immunity system, so they must give me blood infusions once every four weeks. “I don’t think I will ever be able to leave this place alive.”

He claimed that the conditions in prison are not helping matters.

“You don’t have windows. It’s a concrete space with no enrichment, no TV, radio, or anything,” Maldonado Passage stated. According to the Animal Welfare Act of America, you cannot put a monkey into a cage and treat them as this.

Maldonado-Passage shared similar concerns with ET during an April 2021 interview in a jailhouse.

He stated that he has a common variable immuno disease (CVID), which means that I have no immune system and must have blood infusions once every three to four week. However, he said that he’s only been receiving them every three months. “I lost 10 more pounds last week when I was weighed again,” he said.

He said, “I have hemoglobin Anemia, which is another type of blood disease.” “They used to take us downtown to the cancer center, but that was discontinued. Last week I declined treatment for tuberculosis. I have another disease and my mouth is filled with ulcers. I can’t eat. I look terrible.”

Maldonado Passage has a lot of supporters, despite his conviction. ABC News reported that he believes this is true because he was unapologetic and stood up for the things he believed in.

He told his supporters to keep believing in him. “I won’t let you down. “I love every single one of you.”
