COVID-19 has been confirmed in Whoopi Goldberg, as the Omicron strain of the virus continues its rapid spread across the country.

Joy Behar, cohost of The View, shared the following news on Monday’s episode: Goldberg, 66 has mild symptoms since being vaccinated. She also received the booster shot.

Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro were all filming remotely from their homes. This setup was temporary, Behar stated.

She said, “They say there’s no home like home for holidays and that’s exactly what we are doing this year.” From all of our living rooms, Happy New Year! As you can see, we are back in boxes doing the show remotely — hopefully only for a week. I pray that it is just a short week. But you never know.

Behar, 79 years old, said, “Why are I here instead Whoopi?” Although Whoopi tested positive for the drug over the break, she will be back next week. Her symptoms are very mild since she was vaxxed, boosted. We are being very cautious at The View.

Hostin, 53 years old, revealed that her mother and she also tested positive for COVID during the holiday break, but have since recovered. Hostin explained that it was difficult for her family to be apart for Christmas because Manny and her mother both died from COVID-19 within three day of each other, on December 28, 2020, and January 1, 2021, respectively.

She said, “I FaceTimed my family for Christmas and New Years and it was extremely difficult.” “My mom was also positive for COVID. “We’re all now negative, and thank God Manny and my dad are still negative.”

Hostin said, “I’m so grateful that I was vaccinated. I only had mild symptoms. But it’s not like I’ve ever felt great. It just goes to prove that vaccines and boosters work. It makes sure you don’t have to be hospitalized for something like that and it doesn’t cause you death.”

The TV personality said that it was a difficult holiday season for the Hostin family. “My husband was at Christmas Day’s cemetery and I couldn’t go with him. He was extremely concerned about me, and checked my oxygen levels every day. Although we’re now on the other end, it was very difficult and difficult for us.

Hostin and Goldberg’s positive diagnoses came amid a surge in COVID-19-related cases that are currently plaguing the country. This is partly due to the highly contagious Omicron variant. The New York Times COVID data tracker reported that the United States had more than 585,000 new cases on December 30.

Recent research has shown that the new variant is less dangerous and more mild than the ones before, particularly given the availability vaccines and booster shots.
