Duke’s Mayo Bowl — North Carolina against South Carolina

The spoils go to the victor

The Mayo Bowl’s winner coach was to be — guess what — bathed in mayonnaise. This is an incentive?

Going deep!

With a brilliant bit of deception, the Gamecocks were first to strike. Dakereon Joyner, a receiver, lined up at quarterback and threw a 69-yard touchdown pass to Jaheim Bell.

Ringing the Bell

Bell scored again from QB Zeb Norland for 66 yard. It was 15-0 after the two-point conversion.

Feeling the moves

In the first quarter, the Gamecocks took an 18-0 lead. After the Heels managed to pull within 18-10 in the first quarter, South Carolina made another huge play. South Carolina led 25-13 at halftime.
