CBS and Universal Television announced Monday that Noth would not be part of filming “effectively immediately.”
Noth played a former CIA Director on “The Equalizer,” which features Queen Latifah. Noth will be appearing in at least one episode.
Representatives of Noth had no immediate comments on the “The Equalizer” decision.
In a story published last week by The Hollywood Reporter, two women claimed Noth had sexually assaulted them. Noth denied the allegations. They date back to 2004.
“The allegations against me made years ago by people I knew are completely false,” Noth stated. These stories could have been 30 years ago or 30 day ago — no always implies no — that was a line I did NOT cross,” Noth stated in a statement to The Reporter.
One of the women who accused Noth in assaulting her claimed that he had retaliated against his Mr. Big character in “Sex and the City”’s sequel “And Just Like That …”” prompted her to speak out.
The show’s first episode saw Noth’s death, which attracted a lot of attention.
Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, and Sarah Jessica Parker were the series’ stars. They released a statement on Monday saying that they were shocked by the accusations against Noth but that they supported his accusers.
The three women signed a statement saying that they supported the women who came forward to share their pain experiences. We know it must have been difficult and we commend them for doing it.
