Since Monday, the tourists from Germany, Norway and Iceland, have been able to come to Denmark, as long as they can prove that they have ordered a minimum of six nights.

But the rule makes no sense, says the hotel manager from the Hotel Refborg in Billund, denmark, Torben Klovborg.

Already in the last week expressed his concern about how tourists can easily circumvent the rule, and now, just a week after the opening, he experiences it, he feared.

– In this week, we have seen it four or five times, that the guests have booked six nights, and so they typically have cancelled four of them again. I know it is so easy to book six nights at a website and cancel them again. It can’t be easier, says Torben Klovborg to Ekstra Bladet.

the Problem is, according hoteldirektøren that the tourists are not being checked when leaving the country, and therefore it is impossible to enforce the rule of six nights.

the Director has not even any suggestions on how to ensure that the rule is being complied with. Instead he looks like, that the rule be abolished altogether.

– It is super fine, to sommerhusejerne’ve got it through here, but it is not thought out, for hotelejerne don’t get rented rooms out in this way.

– I could see right away that it could go this way. I could really good dream that they repealed the rule with the six nights, so could the hotel industry also come in once again, says hoteldirektøren.

According to TV2 is Torben Klovborg and Hotel Refborg not the only hotel who has experienced cancellations at the last minute. At Hotel Europa in Aabenraa, received one on Monday, a cancellation on the day of arrival on all six booked rooms.

– I know, of course not, why they cancel, but I have my suspicions. It is enough, because the guests just want to check in Denmark, and so they must use a reservation to get into the border, said Helle Taulbjerg for TV2.
