A statue of a slave trader in London is Tuesday, been removed by the authorities.
It writes Reuters.
– Although it is a sad truth that much of our city’s and nation’s wealth derived from the trade with slaves, so there is no reason to celebrate it in our public squares, writes the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, in a tweet with a photo of the statue.

Sadiq Khan has ordered a review of the statues and street names in the whole of London as a response to Black Live Matters-demonstrations in the city.
UPDATE: The statue of the slave trader Robert Milligan has now been removed from the West India Quay.
