To Jerome, Pimot, representative of the Collective drivers of autonomous Paris (CLAP), everything is party to the publication of an investigation Release on the working conditions at Frichti, Monday. The article points in particular to the case of a driver, Karim, who would have been employed by a subcontractor of the platform while it was in an irregular situation. The company had then responded by explaining that it was an isolated case. “Libe reveals the problem of the drivers of undocumented workers hired by a subcontractor of the platform. And, as if by chance, the group decides quickly not to give access of its hubs to persons without-papers”.
In a mail that we have been able to consult, dating from the beginning of the week, the company announces that it will strengthen from the June 8, “security and access within [its] hubs”, the units of distribution where you can take delivery on a bike. To access it, the drivers will now be required to produce a valid identity document, which may be a “passport of a member State of the european economic Area (or Algeria, or Switzerland)”, an identity card or a residence permit with mention of the possibility of exercising an independent business / commercial (resident card, temporary residence permits…)”. “We will be uncompromising (sic) to this subject : no other document will be accepted,” warns the company in bright red.
“The guys have understood that they were scratched of the frames, and a spontaneous movement was born between Wednesday and today,” says Jerome Pimot. For the co-founder of the CLAP, Frichti “panicked” following the investigation of the Release, and has “put the dust under the carpet” by prohibiting the access of local distributors undocumented migrants. However, he adds, “right from the start, to be competitive with platforms such as Nestor or Foodchéri, Frichti relied on drivers without papers”. “Frichti made sure to go to these people,” he continues, ” by doing approaches on the street, at red lights, particularly in corners such as La Chapelle, Stalingrad, Jaurès, Barbès. The drivers went to sign up and the noise is prevalent in the community.”

This Friday, the drivers went in front of the premises of Frichti, hoping to discuss with a representative of the group. Four participants have finally received a “phone call” from the company : “Frichti tries to calm the game, did some machine back. Now, all of the people with a number of SIREN will be able to have access to hubs,” says the CLAP. “They want to proceed with the control of the SIREN”, these numbers to identify the companies, said a protester in the day Friday.
