EDF Renewable, a subsidiary of EDF, announced on Tuesday the launch of the construction of a vast offshore wind farm, in the English Channel off the coast of Fecamp, for a total investment estimated at 2 billion euros.

With a capacity of 500 MW, this park will be composed of 71 wind turbines located in between 13 and 22 km off the coast, for a service to the year 2023.
This park will produce the equivalent of the annual electricity consumption of 770,000 people, more than 60% of the inhabitants of Seine-Maritime, says the electrician, in a press release.
The majority of the site, which will employ more than 1,400 local jobs, will be financed by non-recourse debt.

EDF Renewable is a partner on this project to Enbridge , enterprise infrastructure, energy and WPD, european producer of renewable energies.
