An exhausted dog was on Friday rescued by workers on an oil rig, so the swim around 220 kilometers from the Thailand coast.

They tell that they got the eye on the dog’s head as it swam around in the midst of the sea. When they called on it, he swam in to them on the oil rig where it was rescued out of the water with a rope.

the Dog was at sea for two nights, where the workers took care of it, until the crane was lifted on board a ship that could transport it to land. Monday was attended to by vets in Songkla in southern Thailand.

It remains to be seen, how the dog, who has been given the name ‘Boonrod’ which means something like ‘survive’ in thai, has ended up so far out in the ocean. But several guesses according to the BBC, that it must be dropped by a fishing boat.

One of the platform workers, Khon Vitisak, which was to save Boonrod, said according to the Daily Mail, he plans to adopt the dog if no one comes forward as the owner.

– I hope to adopt her as a pet. I am looking forward to spend many happy years together with her, saying Khon Vitisak according to the british media.
