A éénmotorig plane with two occupants this afternoon crashed on a defensieterrein near the Dutch Hilversum, the netherlands. The aircraft, fuel leaks, hangs in a tree. “It’s a bizarre image,” says a spokesman of the fire brigade. Both occupants are now freed from the airplane.
They have no serious injuries and are well accessible. The men, reportedly a flight instructor and his student, to be reviewed by emt. Also, they are ‘disinfected’, because they were covered in kerosene. That was because of the fire hazard is a ‘complicating factor’ to the already complicated rescue mission. It turned out tricky to the rescue vehicles, a number of platforms, on the site of the accident to get because there are many trees. Emergency services were massively ripped out with a trauma helicopter.
Around 12.50 pm came the éénmotorige plane, a TL Ultralight TL-3000 Sirius, down in the trees at the Corporal Of Oudheusdenkazerne. It is not yet clear how the device is there, it is possible there was talk of engine problems. How the plane out of the tree should be removed, is still unknown.
I thought: this is not good
Eyewitness Sandra Scholten
Witness Sandra Scholten ran at the beginning of the afternoon with dogs of her walking service on a road at the barracks. She saw a plane take off, as often on that spot. “But the plane stuttered, muttered. That fell on. I saw ‘m times and slowly fall. I thought: this is not good. He disappeared behind the trees. A few seconds later I heard a loud, dull thud.”
The fire brigade was quickly on the spot. A spokesman called it earlier this afternoon, ‘a strange face’. “The airplane hangs, stable, in the crown of a tree at about a height of ten metres. The occupants are accountable”, he told when the rescue operation has yet to come. “First the plane was properly secured, then the occupants to be freed.” An exploratory investigation into the crash has started.
Eyewitness Sandra is relieved after the good outcome. “I think they are fortunate that they are in the trees are up to no good.”
