Much Trouble to a dog name: A Sheriff in the US state of Florida has triggered a small storm, because his new four-legged friend “Rommel” was called. After complaints because of the similarity of names with the Wehrmacht General Erwin Rommel, the ten-week-old hunting dog was renamed short-hand, as the channel Fox News reported on Sunday evening.
With the words, “Welcome aboard, Rommel!”, had presented to the Sheriff’s office, the new arrival at the end of last week, proud. Several Followers found the no good. “Congratulations, you have identified the poor dog Nazi,” wrote one of them. The Sheriff’s office wrote that “Rommel” had been named by the dealer after a pet from one of its children times. You have renamed the dog now, but in a “Scout”.
field Marshal Erwin Rommel (1891-1944) was in the Second world war, among other things, commander-in-chief of the German Africa corps. The initial military successes of the “desert Fox” were exploited by the national socialist Propaganda. Because of the Connections to the resistance, he was forced in 1944 to self-killing. (red/sda)
