It was like a bolt of lightning, which struck down, as Carsten Mogensen in February 2016 was hit by a serious stroke during a landsholdssamling in Russia.
An accident, which the Mogensen was out to survive just a few, and of those who do, it’s only a few that can live a normal life.
that is Why many were shocked when Carsten Mogensen just 14 days after his accident, and declared himself ready to DM for the team, where he was to play for Skovshoved.
It was perhaps a tad too early for 35-year-old badminton star, He acknowledges today that he was not ready to play. He was completely finished after just three-four-minute spill.
Mogensen impressed many by making up such a short time after his accident, including the then team mate Mathias Boe, who called described it as the fastest comeback ever.
In October the Boe and Mogensen again in action at the French Open in Paris. Here there were still problems with the head,
– I feel we almost have the game ‘druk-badminton’ inside for heating. The feeling is a little hard to explain. It was not like going sukkerkold. The most obvious is to say, that I felt dizzy, says Carsten Mogensen to TV2 Sport.
On the impressive show, the two danes went and won the tournament – only eight months after Mclean fell.

– When we win it, there I am thinking, ”oh, no. Not too long a præmieceremoni”. I would like to just like to go out and sit out back with my girlfriend and get quiet. So I just stood and crossed your fingers that it went really fast. It is a little annoying that you can’t step on a sejrsskammel in a filled hall and let themselves shelf. But it was hard for me to enjoy, ” says Mogensen.
