David Rose showed his precious finds last night in the BBC programme ‘Antiques Roadshow’. Expert Mark Smith ruled that she was authentic. Rose found the valuable objects on a garbage dump, which he not wanted to divulge. “I’ve fifteen years of working and could choose what I wanted, usually antique pieces,” says Rose.
Together with the cigars and the buishoed found Rose also more than 200 letters written by a cook from Winston Churchill to her son. Interesting material, in which the mother a detailed view of Churchill’s life. The other memorabilia, including a signed photo, have proved to be gifts of the world-famous British oorlogspremier to the cook. It is thanks to the corresponding letters that expert Mark Smith, the collection could authenticate.
Smith estimated the combined value of 10,000 British pounds, or 11.640 euro. David Rose stood there amazed.
