Science & Planet Researchers from the university of the Swedish Lund university have found evidence of one of the strongest solar storms the earth has ever achieved. The solar storm was already almost 2.700 years ago, but the scientists warn of the possible consequences of such a new, huge solar flare.

Astronomers warned last year in a report by news agency Bloomberg for our excessive dependence on satellite data, which can be affected by a so-called solar storm. Even the Danish saxo bank, predicted that this year’s increased solar activity, severe damage could do to satellites, telecommunications and power grids. But as far as we are fortunately not yet.

What is a solar storm? And how is that?

The sun may produce solar flares and plasmawolken, and winds in addition to magnetic fields and all sorts of charged particles into space. Usually we find a few of these solar storms, except by the colorful Northern lights around the poles, caused by charged particles that collide with the upper atmosphere.
