Archery is one of humanity’s oldest sports, having evolved from the earliest stages of human civilization for hunting and warfare. Its presence at the Olympic Games dates back to 1900, during the Paris Games, although this discipline has been contested for millennia. Archery takes place on a target 122cm in diameter, placed at a distance of 70 meters from the shooters. Archers aim to place their arrows as close to the center of the target as possible to score points. Events include individual and team competitions, as well as a mixed event introduced for the first time at the Tokyo 2020 Games. Precision and concentration are essential to success, especially during duels in the final stages.

For the Paris 2024 Games, the archery events will take place from July 25 to August 4. Competitions will include individual events for women and men, as well as team events for women, men and mixed. The archers will compete at Les Invalides to win the Olympic medals.
