1. New construction or renovation?
for a Long time we did only renovations, and there we built a beautiful portfolio. Recently a shift in assignments, however, what is more to new construction, or demolition and complete more sustainable reconstruction. Both have their challenges, of course, in one case, the wishes of a client to fit in at a location, in the other the location to the wishes of the client. The border between the one and the other is sometimes very vague, and we think that’s just exciting. Interactions, harmony and tension, looking up between location and program we do in both scenarios. In the case of (detached) new construction acts the context as a fundamental parameter, while in renovation (in an urban context), we have a multitude of parameters have to cope, or to choose from.

2. When is a design successful? And any design of your desk is a good example of that?
