11. december fills Laus Høybye 40 years, and it is, however, not so difficult for the actor, who today is a part of the successful satiretrio Platt-form and a part of the permanent ensemble at The Royal Theatre.
But for Laus Høybye took the time before the play truly won his heart, and in his late adolescence, he had completely written off a career on the boards. For life in the limelight he did not like.
– My desire to play won, thankfully, finally over the fear of being a public person and to be known. It was the right decision, I’m really happy for the profession, he says.
– It gives a or another, freedom to act and pretend as if you are another. One becomes just like the liberated for itself, for its selvbilleder and own strange limitations when you stand on stage or in front of the camera, he explains.

Already as a 10-year-old, he began to give voice to various cartoons, and after a first appearance in the movie ‘Camping’, it was ‘Crumbs’ and ‘Crumbs 2 – Poor little Crumb’s really katapulterede the young boy into fame as a child actor.
the Play was very professionally very quickly, so it wasn’t such an innocent time. It was a time with a bang, it was not just a play, he says.
the Label as a child actor, he struggled for many years to get rid of. But with age, he has made peace with it.
– for many years I have shared my career up in my time as a child actor and my time as a voksenskuespiller. In fact I would probably like to distance myself a little from the first and not completely stand by it.
It has probably something with my age to do, but in recent years I have accepted that it is a part of me and my career, that I started already as a 10-year-old, he says.
He still experience, that he must relate to the role of a Crumb, which he played for more than 25 years ago.
– Many adults are, for example, up to me and say that their children hear ‘Krummesangen’, and in the past, I could not really rejoice in it. Now I know that it does not change where I am now. It felt like I before. So I had not achieved enough.
– But it is nice to have given something to people, regardless of whether it is a children’s film or a fine piece on The Royal or a show with Platt-form. I take it more relaxed and less up in my own self-image, and it is probably also something that comes with age, he says.
the Teens went for Laus Høybye to ‘be admitted to be ordinary’, as he puts it, and when he had got studenterhuen in the house, it was a musical career, he decided to bet on.
With a father who is a composer and a mother who is out of job as a primary school teacher also managed a children’s choir, where Laus Høybye had turned its folds in several years, it was just for.
He began to read musicology at the university, but the acting was to draw in him.
It was not, however, without reports, that he eventually sought the theatre school in Odense. For what if he came in? And even worse – what if he did? Would he be ready for the life in the limelight, he already as a child had to learn to tackle?
Laus Høybye came in the first blow, but continued to mind about whether it was right for him.

In 2005, he could call himself a trained actor, and since then there have been major roles in the tv-series ‘Luck’ and ’the Pact’ and in lots of plays around the country, just as he, together with colleagues Mille Lehfeldt and Jakob Fauerby has formed satiregruppen Platt-form.
When he is asked what he is most proud of through his career, is the answer:
– In a way I am a little proud of, that I have not gone to the dogs. That I have managed to have a positive look on life. I feel that I have kept the tongue straight in the mouth through a slightly strange way of life, for it is a subject that can tear away at one’s self-esteem, he says.
It had helped him, that he has a good base. He lives with his girlfriend and her daughter in Copenhagen, and at the same time, a big part of the friendships he formed in his youth, held at the.
– There is a danger that one loses itself in the industry, and that is why you have to have something stable by the side of, say, Laus Høybye.
From January he can be seen as part of the permanent ensemble at The Royal Theatre, when is the premiere of the performance ‘Højskolesangbogen’.
