Michael Tsokos is one of the most renowned legal practitioners in Germany, in any case, the Director of the Institute for legal medicine at the Charité, probably the best-known representatives of this profession have contributed, including the publication of several popular non-fiction books and a separate shipment for Sat1 also, together with Andreas Gößling-written Thriller about the fictional medical examiner, Dr. Fred Abel. On this Tuesday, now the private channel Sat1 with “Decomposed – A case for Dr. Abel,” the first of three planned True-Crime-thrillers after the Tsokos novels.
The most important hint is given in the beginning: “based on true events,” it says in the opening credits of the Film, because Tsokos has used for his novels on real cases. The Director Hansjörg Thurn (“the wandering whore”), he not only in an Advisory capacity, he has Dr-Abel-actor Tim Bergmann (“Taunus crime”) autopsies to watch.
The sober distribution of Work among colleagues, as well as the “Public Viewing” of the open abdomen and lung spaces give the Film a certain morbid appeal. The two of lime, was found shot in the Moldovan Republic of Transnistria (in Budapest), irritate the bodies, however, in the Film some viewers to vomit. Dr. Abel will be asked for identification assistance.
Two stories plus policy and childhood trauma
But that is only part of the story on Sat1. The coroner is at the same time, the link to another crime, in Berlin, a waitress (Svenja Jung) kidnapped, abused and death is threatened by a sadistic forms of doctor (Harald Schrott). The amalgamation of cases in addition, charged by political entanglements and childhood trauma, makes the Packed Thriller Dietmar Baer plays a sinister attorney General, however, unnecessarily complicated, and takes him a bit in excitement.
the decomposition of corpses in slaked lime, which gave the impetus for the film and the book title, however, is a common way to cover your tracks, because the identification difficult, if not impossible. “Decomposes’ describes exactly that: the protein structure is changed and the DNA is degraded, decomposed corpses, just more difficult to identify,” says Tsokos from his own practice as a coroner.
Anyway, the reality is at least as exciting as the fiction, the shows the TV-documentary “Decompose – The real story”. Therein, Tsokos told by the real case behind the fictional story. Within two days, the specialist from the Charité had to identify, in Kazakhstan, the bodies of two men were found in slaked lime-filled barrels. By the autopsy of the Bank Manager came Tsokos on circumstantial evidence, which corroborated the suspicion that the Deputy Kazakh put intelligence chief Aliyev behind the murder.
