She has for many years followed closely the debate on the sex trade in Sweden. Today, she works as a sexologist and expert in sexualupplysningsfrågor at RFSU.

– Women who sell sex are always victims, men are never. Men who have sex against remuneration are always connected to an expression of male sexuality, while a corresponding coupling does not apply to women who have sex for compensation.

“If I were the minister I would quickly appoint an inquiry in order to obtain a sound basis for a continued discussion,” says Suzann Larsdotter.

Everyone assumes that women who sell sex are heterosexual, while all men who sell sex are gay.

Her experience is that the knowledge of men who have sex against compensation, the serious shortcomings in the police, social services, health care and among others who in their professions come into contact with various forms of the sex trade.

” We found that the number of people selling sex is probably far higher than what had previously been assumed to be the case.
