Ninove The new city council was tonight installed in Ninove. Especially Joost Arents was given a tough time by the opposition. Open Vld called him a hero.

at About the same time with the ‘march for Democracy’ from Schild & Friends, and Outpost by the Road blocks found in the well-protected town hall the first town council. There laid the councilmen and the aldermen take an oath. When Joost Arents as independent the oath, there was booing from the audience. All that was soon drowned out by a loud applause of the majority in the city council. Arents went against the view of his in the meantime, ex-party N-VA in coalition with Open Vld and Together, to the dismay of a lot of Forza-voters because Forza is way out of the city council was held.

Conniving way

Arents was also firmly put to the test by the opposition. Which consists of Forza, and Karolien De Roose, the only remaining council member of N-VA. “That I owe to my ex-medeverkozene Joost Arents. He also had a short recording to hear, which Arents stated that ‘the interest of the party above all’. “As captain of the ship that you yourself sank, you first board the ship jumped, right into the arms of the left-wing coalition,” said D’haeseleer. “Do not think that everything will blow over, and there I will take care of.” Also for the rest of the coalition, he was hard: “See you down there, the losers of the elections.”

From Open Vld received Arents then again praise. “Not only has his interests set aside, but also his political future,” said Open Vld party leader Alain Sad. “For us he is the hero that the administrative impasse has been solved.”

“Stop passionately”

“The Ninovieters want to again be proud of their city,” says Co-leader Lieven Meert. “Let this be the starting point to focus on what binds us together to build a future for our city. Passionately, stomping and cursing our no nut forward assist.”

Dirk Vanderpoorten follows himself as gemeenteraadsvoorzitter. Veerle Cosyns also explained the oath as chairman of the special committee for the social service.
