Economy After the kantoorhond and the kantoorkat have more and more Dutch companies are now also kantoorvissen. Watching fish in an aquarium would be good for the well-being of the employees: it is calming and can lower blood pressure, according to British academic research.
Erik Red has many kantoorvis plotted on the Dutch work floor. He has a leasing company for aquariums, AquariumVerhuur.nl. For about 4 to 7 per day – depending on how large the aquarium is and how many fish in it – companies have their own collection of onderwaterfauna. Red: “for years I traveled a lot. Once back in the Netherlands I wanted as an entrepreneur, do something that suits me. On a journey, I also always a lot of scuba diving. How beautiful the underwater is, I wanted that people can share. So I came up with the idea for my company.”

Red takes customers the sometimes labour-intensive care for the fish entirely out of your hands. Every few weeks he comes along for maintenance of the aquarium and to clean it. Also, do not: that comes automatically with a device.
