Each morning, Noáin becomes the epicenter of a production that starts to be a reference on the technology of 3D printing. Since in 2013 the Spanish brand launched the Witbox, the rise has been unstoppable. Only a year later, this model was already the fourth most sold in the world, championing the ‘made in Spain’ more pointer, and innovative. Today some 7,000 printers leave each year of this town in navarra with target to 53 countries.
Noáin has become a hub of the industrial technology of spain. Something more than a centre of production -in these dates to full-performance. A factory with great international projection, and the mirror in which you look at many other. In the hands of their founders, engineers and machinists have made it possible for the BQ to become one of the multinational technology most important in Europe, and a paradigm of the production chain more innovative.
In particular, in the plant of navarre is manufactured some of the most emblematic products of BQ -and some of the most sought-after this Christmas – such as printers Witbox Go! and Witbox 2 and Zowi, an educational toy that teaches children how it works and creates the technology. Many of its Witbox print, in fact, some of the utensils that are used on the same assembly lines of the factory and have been produced with 3D printing.
More than 400 devices a day
The factory of Noáin is formed by two naves. One of them serves as storage and the other houses the different assembly lines. The profiles that exist on it are engineers, technicians and operators. The first, are in charge of developing the productive systems. The second is concerned with assemble, ride and stop to point all devices for sale, previously screened to verify that they work correctly.
In total, the factory produces 414 products a day thanks to the chains of mount rigorously designed so that the production does not stop. Of the total number of devices that see the light every day, the majority correspond to the robot Zowi, Zum Kits and three 3D printers BQ: the Witbox 2, the Hephestos 2 and his latest release, the Witbox Go!
3D Printing accessible to the consumer end –
This last, is one of the bets most important of the company, created by BQ with one goal: to democratize access to 3D printing technology. Witbox Go! goes directly to the final consumer in a language that they share. Very easy to use, is the first that uses the Android operating system and includes a software own, Zetup, that has application to the mobile. A printer affordable the inside, and whose exterior design has been the subject of various awards.
To doors to Christmas, Noáin is used extensively in a device, in particular, Zowi. This robot is an educational toy perfect for a gift on these dates. Voted the Best Toy Connected of 2016 by the expert jury of the Spanish Association of Toy Manufacturers, Zowi teaches little ones to a new use of the technology, fun, versatile and educational. With a simple app, you can program it to do different actions and can also set up and disassemble it to see how it is inside.
But if there is a really innovative project for BQ is the development of the ZUM KITs, the range of children’s games based on the learning of the latest technologies, robotics, the concept of creativity and invention and manufactured 100% in the factory navarre BQ. With them the children (we found different ranges and complexities depending on the age group) will be able to create their own robots and electronic applications, or learn about programming, robotics and even 3D printing. In addition, BQ has created its own platform Bitbloq with which the little ones will be able to schedule their own inventions by blocks and by code in later ages.

Other products that occupy a prominent place in the production line of the factory of BQ in Navarre is the Witbox 2, one of the printers most famous of BQ with a professional print quality. With a production line peculiar, we find Hephestos 2, especially designed for the public maker as it is sold without a mount. To be a product of DIY (do it yourself) does not require positions of assembly in the factory, but only a grouping of components.
The technology that BQ has been developed in 3D printing is not only applied in specialised sectors. Is already a reality in areas such as medicine, industry, orthopedics, fashion, art or architecture and its possibilities are becoming increasingly wide. A horizon of opportunities in which the Spanish BQ is located on the first line, providing their most innovative technology to the markets of half the world.
