One christmas eve, a wonderful tradition of rice porridge and alphabet soup. ALICE WESTERBERG

Also baking author Alice westerberg’s christmas eve traditionally begins with the rice! erroneous. Porridge guy is served with a sweet fruit custard, i.e. the alphabet soup. Although at times, the porridge will eat just cinnamon and sugar, alphabet soup an integral part of the christmas table.

If the custard ice at breakfast without eating, it tastes great also the christmas meal for dessert.

rice porridge and alphabet soup

(4 servings)

Custard:

250 g dried mixed fruit

1 litre water

cinnamon stick

½ cup sugar

1 cup water

2,5 tbsp potato flour

Porridge:

2 cups water

2 dl porridge rice

1 l semi-skimmed milk

½ teaspoon salt

1. Measure sekahedelmät and 1 liter of water in a saucepan. Add the cinnamon stick and let the fruit swell over night. Heat the custard to a boil and let simmer for 10 minutes. Remove the cinnamon stick.

2. Mix the potato flour in cold water and add whisk in the kiisseliin. Heat again to boiling and lift the boiler off the heat. Let cool or serve warm oatmeal with.

3. Ready-made porridge by measuring the water into a saucepan. Bring the water to a boil and add the rice. Stir until the liquid is absorbed into the rice. Add the milk and cook over low heat, between the stirring for approximately 45 minutes. Season the prepared porridge with salt.
