A victory that counts double. Losc defeated its neighbor Lensois (2-1) this Friday, at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium, during the first match of the 27th day. And this thanks to a double from the untenable Edon Zhegrova. Substitute at kick-off, Elye Wahi reignited the suspense at the end of the match, in vain… Thanks to this success, the Mastiffs climb (at least temporarily) on the podium in the Ligue 1 ranking. They also and above all take four lengths ahead of their Lensois rivals, sixth before the rest of a day which will end Sunday evening (8:45 p.m.) at the Vélodrome, with OM-PSG.

In a sold-out Pierre Mauroy stadium for the occasion, Lille got off to a strong start. Very strong ! Bentaleb quickly launched Zhegrova deep on a long crossbar. With perfect control, the Kosovar took the ball to his left foot before crossing his shot into the Samba goal (1-0, 9th). A high-class action to open the scoring. Jostled from the start, the Lensois were surprised and responded… with mistakes (10), most often on Haraldsson and Zhegrova. Even if they were dominated, the Sang et Or contained the Lille offensives, in particular thanks to an imperial Danso. At the break, the advantage was local (1-0 MT).

When we returned from the locker room, nothing worked out for the RCL. Still silent, they did not manage a single shot on target and as in the first half, Zhegrova punished Lensoise’s passivity. On the hour mark, Gudmundsson made a big pass at Aguilar and rushed down the right side. In front of Samba, his shot was pushed back into the feet of Zhegrova who was lurking in the area, the hero of the evening pushed the ball into the back of the net (2-0, 60th). With no response for 75 minutes, Lens found the solution… too late. Coming into play after the second goal, Wahi took the best of Yoro and adjusted Chevalier with his left foot (2-1, 78th). The revolt was launched. But it didn’t last. The Mastiffs were serious from the first to the last second, only a moment of hesitation hurt them, without consequence (2-1).
