News that should delight many Munich fans. According to information from the sports magazine Kicker, Franck Ribéry, currently technical coach at US Salernitana, is seriously considering a coaching position at Bayern Munich. For this, he is currently training as a coach.

Four years ago, after the 2018/2019 season, Ribéry took leave of Bayern Munich after twelve years as a player. He then sought a new challenge in Italy, playing first for AC Fiorentina until 2021, then a further year at US Salernitana, where he finally ended his active career.

Although he retired as a player, he remained linked to the Italian club as a technical coach, while continuing his training to obtain the necessary license to coach a team as head coach.

According to information from Kicker magazine, the Frenchman is already considering a near return to FC Bayern. Aged 40, Ribéry, who still has a residence in the Bavarian capital and enjoys spending time in Munich, is considering a coaching position with Bayern Munich’s youth team. His son, Seïf Ribéry, trains and plays at the Bayern campus in the under-13 category. Ribéry himself was present at his son’s training session at the end of January and even played with the junior team.

The links between Ribéry and Bayern have never been severed. The Bavarian club still maintains close contact with this public favorite, who won nine championships, six German Cups, a Champions League as well as the Club World Cup with FCB, and who was elected European footballer of the year in 2013. It is therefore “highly probable”, again according to Kicker, that a meeting between Ribéry and Bayern is in sight. However, Ribéry first wants to acquire the necessary skills for a possible move to Bayern Munich by obtaining his coaching license.
