For the past few days, incidents with motorcycles have been increasing on the Tour de France 2023. During the 14th stage on Saturday, two machines had blocked Tadej Pogacar while the Slovenian was trying to attack a few hundred meters from the top of the Col de Joux Plane. This Wednesday, it was a stationary two-wheeler that blocked the yellow jersey Jonas Vingegaard in the Col de la Loze.

These clashes are not without consequences. The manager of the French team, Thomas Voeckler, was excluded from the 18th stage disputed this Thursday while covering the Tour on a motorcycle for France Télévisions. The jury of commissioners put forward the argument of “non-compliance with the press specifications before the summit of the Col de la Loze”.

The famous trio of Inconnus seized on the subject in the 1980s with a hilarious sketch of an interview with a rider in the middle of a race by a journalist on a motorcycle. “Can you say hello to the whole Antenne 2 team?, asks Pascal Légitimus, holding out the microphone to the face of the yellow jersey embodied by Bernard Campan, on the rise. Try a little harder, I can’t hear you very well. Can you come closer please?”

“But no I can’t, you’re making me lose my average, push yourself!” Campan replies to him, while Didier Bourdon runs beside him to encourage him, bob screwed on his head. And then it’s the drama: “Here, an Antenne 2 sticker!” Says the journalist, trying to stick the said sticker on the face of the cyclist, which causes him to fall.
