The French Cycling Federation unveiled this Tuesday the provisional starting list for the various events of the French Championships. From June 22 to 25, the races will take place in the north of France, in Hazebrouck and Cassel. As justice of the peace, the Elite Professional Men’s online race will be held on Sunday, June 25th. For this one, some big names are already officially absent.

One of the race favourites, Christophe Laporte will not be at the start. For the second consecutive year, the 30-year-old sprinter vice world champion is left to rest before the Tour de France with Jumbo Visma. As in 2022, the winner of Through Flanders and two stages of the last Critérium du Dauphiné skips the French Championships. Kevin Vauquelin (Arlkéa Samsic) and Romain Bardet (Team DSM) should also give up this race. The first is coming back from injury and will probably not be fit and the second has no tricolor teammate capable of supporting him. For their part, the last two winners Rémi Cavagna and Florian Sénéchal will be at the start accompanied by former World Champion Julian Alaphilippe (Soudal Quick-Step). On the Groupama-FDJ side, all the big names are present, from David Gaudu to Thibaut Pinot via Arnaud Démare, the same thing for AG2R Citroën with in particular Benoit Cosnefroy and the Paret-Peintre brotherhood. Guillaumer Martin and Bryan Coquard will also start with Cofidis, as will the winner of the 2021 edition Warren Barguil (Arkéa-Samsic).
