Norwegian Olympic 1,500m champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen broke his own European record for the distance in 3 min 27 sec 95 Thursday in Oslo. Intractable, Ingebrigtsen (22) broke away at the end of the race under the cheers of the Bislett stadium to do better than his previous record (3:28.32) achieved in the Olympic final in 2021 in Tokyo.

World record holder in the 1,500m indoors since last year, the Norwegian had achieved the best world performance of all time over 2 miles (about 3.2 km) in Paris last week (7:54.10). The Norwegian Olympic champion Karsten Warholm achieved the 4th best time in the history of the 400m hurdles in 46 sec 52 for his comeback.

Warholm, world record holder since a legendary Olympic final in Tokyo in 2021 (45.94) crushed the race on Thursday starting very strong, as usual, to set the second best time of his career. He thus regains his best level after having had a lackluster season in 2022, due to a hamstring injury (only 7th at the Worlds, European champion).
