Huge disappointment for the Cadillac clan back at Le Mans. The Hypercar driven by Sébastien Bourdais was forced to stop on the Mulsanne straight after the crew had just set an excellent third time during the Hyperpole. Getting out of his smoking and flaming car, Bourdais appeared to be annoyed at the slowness with which roadside assistance intervened to put out the incipient fire. This incident caused a red flag and a neutralization of the session. The two Ferraris had set the two best lap times a few minutes earlier.
