It is the most exclusive private island in the Bahamas and is on sale for 100 million dollars (about 91 million euros). engel

‘Little Pipe Cay’ has an extension of more than 15 hectares and is part of the Exuma archipelago (belonging to the Bahamas), located about 112 kilometers southeast of Nassau. It can be reached by plane from Florida, as well as from the islands of New Providence and Staniel Cay.

“The island maintains a great variety of native flora and fauna in an environment of crystalline waters and ultra-fine, white sand beaches. This Caribbean landscape is what has been decisive for the island being chosen as a backdrop in Hollywood movies like James Bond and Pirates of the Caribbean,” reveals Colin Lightbourn, head of Engel

The 5,000-square-foot colonial-style main residence is surrounded by four 11-bedroom, 12-bathroom guest houses totaling more than 2,000 square feet of living space, all connected by small pathways. Each one of the buildings is totally independent and equipped with all the comforts, guaranteeing the highest level of discretion, comfort and luxury.

Other services that make up the resort are an infinity Olympic pool and an exclusive spa. An added feature of Little Pipe Cay, and a true rarity in the Exumas, is the private, deep-draft superyacht-capable dock where vessels of all sizes can dock. To this we must add a private heliport and a dock for seaplanes that allows access to the island by all means.

The island includes staff accommodation and 24-hour security service. There is also the possibility that a building permit may be granted to build more buildings on it, if requested by the buyer.

“The island is a true gem and a rarity in the international real estate market. It offers an unparalleled level of privacy and a wide variety of unique recreational activities,” says Lightbourn. “It’s available as a turnkey property and there’s also the option to rent it out,” she notes. If you want to rent ‘Little Pipe Cay’, the cost ranges between 75,000 and 95,000 dollars (between 68,000 and 86,000 euros, approximately) per night, depending on the season.

The 365 islands that make up the Exumas are mostly uninhabited. They enjoy both an excellent climate and political stability. The capital, George Town, only has 1,500 inhabitants.

Natural beauty continues to win out over tourism, and there are few places in the world where you can enjoy such absolute privacy. That’s why the region is chosen by international stars such as Johnny Depp, David Copperfield and Tyler Perry, who own private islands in the vicinity of Little Pipe Cay.

“Although the market for private islands is small, demand has increased significantly since 2020. The pandemic years, coupled with global political uncertainty, have redefined the way we value privacy and well-being. Luxury is about enjoying the as much of both as possible, something that is easier on a private island, where you can move freely, enjoy absolute peace and quiet, and have full control over your own land surrounded by sea,” adds Lightbourn.
