36,145 corona cases were reported to the RKI on Tuesday.
That is 40 percent less than on Tuesday of last week, which was characterized by post-Christmas late reports.
The nationwide 7-day incidence falls accordingly, from 202 to 189.
The incidence is falling in 15 of the 16 federal states, the exception being Rhineland-Palatinate.
There, as well as in Saarland, Brandenburg and Saxony, the incidence is also above the level of the previous week.
307 corona deaths were reported to the RKI yesterday.
This is the highest daily value since April 21, 2022, i.e. since Easter week.
After the RKI reported 249 deaths yesterday, the 7-day average is now rising to 150 and thus to the highest value since mid-November.
The relatively high daily values yesterday and today are distributed more or less evenly across the federal states. Of course, you can also reflect an increased need for late registration after the public holidays, but this is not clear.
