The Puebla de Don Fadrique City Council announced that the 2021 budget year has been liquidated. It shows a surplus amount of 450,693, and a treasury balance of 2,320,022 euro and 1,933,117 cash.

Mariano Garcia, the Mayor of Puebla believes these data are a sign that the City Council doesn’t have to prepare any economic or financial plan for local investments, or maintain municipal public services. Additionally, they can receive subsidies from other public agencies with certain guarantees.

“This budget surplus is fundamentally due a good judgement when it comes to sustainable and viable management the economic resources in the Municipality.”

Garcia says that these accounts have enabled the Town Council to keep truly ambitious investment plans, like those on Soledad and Jesus Morante. Also, works are being done right now that will be visible in the coming weeks. These include improving the lighting at the soccer court and tennis court, Pedroches de Almaciles, Padre Sanchez Canovas streets and the municipal gym or the adventure park “Los Yesares”.

Mayor explains that the municipality’s payment system to suppliers is another positive aspect of its economy. It is currently 11 days in the first quarter 2022.

Mariano Garcia Castillo explains that the 2021 budget result is due to responsible, common-sense municipal administration, based upon real budgets, in line with the City Council’s direct income, and the principle of not spending more than is received.. This economic philosophy allows for maintaining the budget without increasing fiscal pressure on neighbors and keeping taxes frozen. It is simply the application of the principal rule that every family and company must follow for proper functioning. This is spending on what is necessary and possible, as well as having the money to do it. Exactly, Mariano Garcia.
