“The agreement reached at the climate summit”
“Late on the Saturday evening reached the world’s countries to reach an agreement at the UN climate conference in Katowice, Poland.”
“this Agreement now means that there is a regulatory framework for the paris agreement in 2015.”
“– on the Basis of the conditions, this is a tour de force from the international community, ” says klimatminister Isabella Lövin.”
“the Negotiations were both difficult and complex because the intention was to construct a necessary regulatory frameworks for the paris agreement. Many questions have been technically difficult to solve.”
“The Polish chairman of the meeting, Michal Kurtyka, were significantly relieved when he was able to stick to the agreement.”
“Last night was a long night, and it has been followed by a very long day,” he said, and smiled while the applause from the assembled delegates broke loose.”
“– this means that we have arranged so that the paris agreement can be implemented. It has been a difficult task but we have done our best to listen to everyone involved and not leave anyone outside. The text is balanced in a fair way for all parties, he added.”
“Some critics believe, however, that one of the reasons for the meeting pulled out so much at the time – it was over a day delayed – was that the Kurtyka had a problem with to lead the meeting.”
“the Contrast is clear when you compare with the meeting in Paris three years ago, when the then French foreign affairs minister Laurent Fabius chaired the meeting. He was very aggressive against the countries ‘ representatives and would not allow anyone to block the meeting with irrelevant posts.”
“Some of the issues threatened to block the meeting completely. A question that a tag was in the way for an end-result, was how carbon trading – basically buying and selling of carbon – managed.”
“Brazil had claimed that the regulations would be simplified, or weakened, if you will. Other countries protested because there is already enough cheating with the current system.”
“– the Solution was to simply lift the whole question to the next meeting of a year, ” says Lövin.”
“the Book will now control the countries and to be an assurance that they will do what they say they do when it comes to emission reductions.”
“– Now you can compare each countries ‘emissions, which is absolutely necessary if the paris agreement to work, says”.”
“An important requirement is that the process should be transparent – and at that point you could agree relatively quickly.”
“the issue of how developing countries should be compensated for damages due to climate change could be solved.”
“A center of controversy was how the new report from the UN intergovernmental panel on climate change (IPCC) of 1.5-gradersmålet would be treated in the text. The united states, Russia, saudi Arabia and Kuwait refused to approve a wording where the report ”
“the Solution became a compromise where both words occur in the text in a slightly different way than from the beginning. Isabella Lövin is happy.”
“– There are clear instructions about how important the IPCC report is, ” she says.”
“Corrected: An earlier version of the text contained an incorrect statement about how mötget addressed the issue of how developing countries should be compensated for damages due to climate change.”
“In december 2015 in Paris took the world’s leaders decision on a new climate change agreement.”
“The most important points in the agreement:”
“– global warming shall be limited to – ”
“– Efforts should be made to reach 1.5 degrees.”
“– global emissions of greenhouse gases have reached their highest level, ”
“– Net emissions will be zero during the second half of the century.”
“Countries’ national climate plans ‘ shall be updated every five years from 2020.”
“It’s relatively well known that China stands for the absolute terms of carbon dioxide emissions, with the USA in second place and EUROPE in third. But when it comes to per capita emissions are the numbers different. Countries with the greatest carbon dioxide emissions in 2017:”
“– China, 10,92 billion tonnes.”
“the Same countries’ per capita emissions:”
“– China, 7,71 tonnes per personu002Får.”
“The biggest emissions per capita, Qatar, 38,52 tonnes per person per year. Sweden’s per capita emissions are 4,54 tonnes per person per year.”
