Ghent is Amazing really, it looks like, the head of the deceased singer and writer Luc De Vos, Emilio Vit from his 3D printer conjured. “I have this made on the basis of photos,” he says. “Purely for myself. All I hope secretly that this is the basis for a statue for Luc. He was a Belgian icon. I understand actually, not that he has no statue.”
Emilio lives in Oostakker, and is professionally involved with 3D design and 3D printing. With his company’s EV-Props, he takes almost any job. But for himself, he has also been a few ‘headlines’ printed, just for fun. “At home I have all of Christopher Reeve, Freddy Mercury, John Massis, and now Luc De Vos.”
Luc deserves a statue in Ghent. Actually, I do not understand that he don’t have one yet.

“Luc was a Ghent-based icon and a topmens, as Gentenaar, you can almost not different than a fan of him,” he says. “So, I found it a fun idea to head to print. Fortunately, there are online enough pictures of him to find. On the basis of all the photos I have are head. I have a bit of an average taken of how Luc all there has been, with slightly longer hair. The final print process is 3 days, but I’m obviously much longer have been busy with the design. It had to be really good.” The result is more than successful, and is provisionally just in Emilio’s home. It is true to size. Actually, it looks scary really, apart from the fact that it is, of course, just grey. “Maybe colour it in, maybe I give it a layer of bronze, maybe not,” he says.
Funding
Emilio’s big dream is, however, that this bust is a real statue would be, in the memory of the Gorki frontman. But he can not finance it. “Luc deserves a statue in Ghent. Actually, I do not understand that he don’t have one yet. At Sint-Jacobs, that would be perfect, right? That was a little bit of his home.” According to Emilio this is perfectly possible. On the basis of his 3D-printed head would be a bronze casting can be made. “I think you for 10.000 euros or a statue, life-size.”
The 3D image as it is, whether or not gebronzeerd, on the street, is not an option. “It weighs almost nothing, and the substance in which it is printed, is solid, but certainly not unbreakable. This would be the image on the street not long survive.” If the city, or Venue, or who are interested to be effective is a picture of Luc, then think Emilio already go further. “Also of Walter De Buck, a would I easy as a bust.
