Distriktdomstolen in Augsburg has recently delivered a judgment, which may end up being very expensive for Volkswagen.
the Verdict instructs the carmaker to buy a 56-year-old German bilejers VW Golf Plus back, because he in the court’s opinion, the eyes have been cheated by the group. It writes the German Bild.
the Car is one of the countless dieselmodeller, which Volkswagen sold snydesoftware back in 2012. The software made the cars able to turn down the pollution level during the test, so they could be miljøgodkendt, even though they polluted too much.
The illegal technical solution was discovered by us authorities in 2015, and since the group has paid big billions in fines and developed updates that have made an end of snydesoftwaren.
Volkswagen’s long-standing bodsgang changed, however, is not the court’s views on the matter. In domsafgørelsen call it, supposedly for both ‘immoral behaviour’ and ‘deception of the customers’.
the Case of the 56-year-old and his VW Golf Plus does not differ significantly from the many thousands of others, who six years ago bought himself a Volkswagen dieselbil. However, according to the district court is deceived so serious in itself that the car owner does not just need to have a compensation that corresponds to the car’s value after six years on German roads.
No, he must have the full amounts at the 29.907,66 euro – in day similar to 223.000 crowns – back.
It is not the first time the VW group has been forced or sentenced to to purchase individuals cars back. According to Teknikens värld theme park has the Volkswagen previously offered to buy 480.000 cars back in the UNITED states, and less than a month ago, it was an aggrieved German Porsche Cayenne owner, who got the court’s words, that he had been cheated.
Here, thought the court, however, that the four years of ownership should be offset against the purchase price.

the Case of the six-year-old Golf Plus is therefore the first, where the world’s largest automotive group has been ordered to pay the full amount back. And the 56-year-old bilejers lawyer, Markus Klamert, had also struggled to hide his excitement after the sentencing.
– For the first time a court in Germany convicted Volkswagen to pay for the damage and take the car back without having to take into account that it is used. It is a legal breakthrough, says the lawyer for Bild.
Not surprisingly, it was car owner is also well satisfied with the verdict.
– I just had to sit down since I got it to know. I am very happy and grateful. I hope now that the other car owner can get it just like me, he says to the German magazine.
Volkswagen is not returned on the Bilds inquiries, and it is therefore unclear whether the group will appeal against the verdict. If not, can the judgment set a precedent for other Golf Plus owners in the same situation as the 56-year-old.
Volkswagen has built more than 930,000 copies of the Golf Plus between 2004 and 2014, where the model went out of production.
