Families across the country sat ready with treats and smiles in front of the television as the children’s Melodi Grand Prix race across the screen Saturday night.

But when the time came to vote, ran more families into trouble. Several saw that their votes were registered via the DR’s and MGP-app.

When they tried to register, they were greeted to the following message:

‘Oops, we have a problem. Please try again later’.

It has got a number of frustrated parents to the keys on the on Facebook page ‘MGP – DR’, where more telling about their unfortunate experience with the MGP app, and among other things, calls it ‘a ommer’ and ‘bad style’.

Now is the DR ready with an explanation as to why several users experienced problems with the app on a Saturday night.

– We have now become a little bit wiser on what was wrong. There was a problem during the settlement. Up to the second vote, there was a short outage on a couple of servers as some users were experiencing. Therefore it has also only been some users of the app have been affected, says Kristian Waneck, who is head of DR’s streaming section, to Ekstra Bladet.

– We can see that we were hit in the two-three minutes, which was therefore the users, who could not deliver their vote. The problem was quickly resolved, and you had a quarter of an hour to vote at all, so users should be able to have a chance to vote yet, he says further.

At the DR they are, however, sorry that the technique didn’t work as it should.

– It is mega-annoying, and we are always infuriating when that happens such a thing, and our users experience, our services works. However, we are happy that we got the problem resolved quickly, so everyone has had an opportunity to drop their votes in the end, says DR boss.

– Is there anything you will change for the next time in the aftermath of the here error?

Event & Culture – 24. feb. 2019 – at. 10:18 ‘Outrageous’ eurovision: – I do not understand

Technical errors, you can never guard completely against. That is, it is important that you have the right preparedness to solve it if it occurs. I think we have, when we have been able to respond as quickly as we did. It is never 100 percent safe when it is technology, but we do what we can to make sure that it works, says Kristian Waneck.

And so it is important for me to emphasise that the vast majority of our users have not had problems. We are so happy, but of course, it is too bad for those who were affected, he stresses.
