After a late arrival to New Zealand because of flyproblemer, Caroline Wozniacki, apparently, been able to take advantage of his stardom as topseedet at the ASB Classics to get a late start.
She plays first of the year first match on Wednesday, where she meets the 30-year-old German qualifier Laura Siegemund. A player she has never met before, and who came with in the main tournament as a ’lucky loser’ after a defeat in his latest battle. She moves in in place of injured freshman, Margarita Gasparyan.
the Dane’s special forces arrive, however, was far from the main theme, since she landed in Auckland, and true to form was received by the local press.

However, the focus was on the rheumatoid arthritis which she was diagnosed for the last year. The world number three will also use the season to make them aware of the disease, she says.
– You have a large platform, when you’re doing what I’m doing, and I think there are so many ways you can create awareness about it. Right now we are about to find out how, but just I have told that I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis, has already helped a lot of people.

As I leave home to start a new season, I had a bit of time to reflect on a crazy 2018, and two things stood out. Starting off the season winning my first Grand Slam in Australia was a life long dream that was definitely worth the wait! Also, being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis after struggling physically for months, gave me a new challenge to overcome and a new mission to raise awareness for the disease. Bring on 2019, I am ready – Caro
– Many have contacted me and told that they are suffering from the same, or that someone in their family suffers from it. There are several people who have the disease than you think, says she, with the address to the estimated 25 million fellow-sufferers worldwide.
She got the diagnosis last summer and was over the fall of the wiser on how she should handle the disease, both privately and in relation to a career elite athletes.
– Every day is a new day, and you have it, as you have it. But I’m fine, and it’s all about finding out what works for me and what makes me feel good. It teaches you along the way.
Caroline Wozniacki lands in Auckland as a prelude to titelforsvaret in the Australian Open, and it is the fifth year in a row, she initiates here. She has been in the finals in both the 2015 (Venus Williams) and 2018 (Julia Görges), but has yet to win the tournament, where she is obviously topseedet.
– I love to play here. It gives me a good start to the season, she believes.
I’ve played well in recent seasons and feel comfortable. The most important thing is that my body can endure it.
the Dane was a day delayed by a storm in the UNITED states, which resulted in a cancelled flight, but hopefully she is country enough time to be able to coach and be fairly acclimated to his first game on Wednesday.
Her opponent has been in Auckland for a while and had three matches in the qualifying stage, where she is in the third lost in three sets to the canadian Bianca Andreescu.
