The transformation of Churriana de la Vega’s town will take place over the next few years. It is a plan to transform the area into a place that promotes inclusive coexistence and conciliation. Antonio Narvaez (the mayor of the city) and Antonio Tejada (founder of “The Accessible City”) presented the document titled “Urban Comfort Plan 2019-2023” with numerous actions that aim to make the municipality “an ideal area to live, work, and visit.”

Sources at the City Council confirmed that the city has seen a significant growth in population and employment in the past few years. “Urban comfort” is a concept that aims to involve all citizens so that they can actively participate in and identify with the municipality’s life, which is particularly intense in Churriana.

The Consistory and “The Accessible City” announced a plan to improve the layout of the municipality and to cater to different sectors, groups and segments of population in order to create environments that are suitable for the most vulnerable. The plan’s creators claim that they are working to transform municipalities near capitals into cities that promote life, optimism, and happiness.

In the City Council’s statement, the final goal of the document is to “promote an urban environment that permits social participation with equal opportunities.

Narvaez stated that “coverage will also be given to the different actions that will be undertaken in the next years in terms of universal access, sustainability and’smart cities’ as well as complicity in the environment and mobility”.
