There has been plenty of outrage over the international ski federation (FIS), since the previous month, chose to move their congress in 2020 from Marrakech in Morocco to thailanske Pattaya.
the City is most of all known to be a true sex paradise with many prostitutes, and it has been among other things, Norway to resist.
Now defending the president of the international ski association, 75-year-old Gian-Franco Kasper, the choice of the thai city.
– I want to say that Pattaya is not just sex-tourism, ” says Kasper, according to, among other things Nettavisen.
Pattaya is also – as far as I know, for I have never been there – a place for big conventions.
– I must be honest to say, that if in the future we must count the number of prostitutes in every city that will be chosen, then we will have a problem, says the president.

In Norway, they have otherwise done little to have moved congress away from Pattaya.
– I think it was a wrong decision – mainly because of the questionable reputation attached to the sex industry, which has characterized this city for a number of years, says the Norwegian skipræsident Erik Røste.
– As an international idrætsorganisation we must not put ourselves in such a completely unnecessary situation. It damages our reputation and all the positive things that are being decided, it’s going to be in the shade, says Røste.

the 75-year-old Gian-Franco Kasper acknowledges that the scandinavian countries are against the choice of Pattaya.
– I must accept it, but for me plays no role. I will be at the hotel no matter what.
– We must accept this, and I am convinced that those of our participants, who have little time to spare, like the beaches, ” says Kasper.
Ski-the president explains that it is a half year ago that you thanked yes to the offer of Pattaya, as due to technical reasons, yet not be able to come to Marrakech anyway.
Pattaya is believed to have over 20,000 sex-workers in the city, and according to the 75-year-old Kasper, the city centre has all the luxuries that you need for the 1200 guests to the congress.
The two most recent congresses have been in Greece and Mexico, while the FIS-the top also has met in cities such as Rio de Janeiro, Miami, Antalya, Cape Town and Barcelona.
