By the end of 2019 is the end of the program ‘The Sound of Musicals’, which at the time has been heard in almost three years on DR’s P2 with, among others, Silas Holst behind the microphone.
In a posting on Instagram expresses the well-known dancer and actor, both anger and frustration that the program, which is dedicated to the music from many popular musicals, in the future no longer will be to find among DR’s offer to the listeners.
‘Yes, so hit the big sparerunde, on the Radio, unfortunately, also the fourth floor and P2. Because of the cost savings will be Stine Rosengren and my radio program ‘The Sound of Musicals’ picked by the poster, when the year runs out. It is crazy sad!’, he writes and calls the DR’s decision is both stupid and ‘a pity’.

Yes, then hit the big sparerunde, on the Radio, unfortunately, also the fourth floor and the P2… the pga savings will be @stinerosengren and my radio program “the Sound of musical” picked by the poster, when the year runs out. It is crazy sad! Mainly because I in Stine has the world’s best colleague, but also because the program has mega good number of listeners. But because P2 now must accommodate all of the jazz music from the also closed P8, the program schedule and the musical universe of widely is believed that from the pundits! A shame that a genre as a musical that is popular as never before among the danes must not be represented in the radio anymore! Big mistake from management side if you ask me! And practice for our genre, who are now homeless and the listeners, once again, find themselves weighed and found wanting! Stupid DR! But in this last half-season of our program have FULL gas frk. Rosengren. A shame you don’t find musicals very well with the DR! But Rosengren – you are wonderful!!!! a better co-host does not exist!! #dumtdr #fejlpåfejl #runderafmedmaner #nårvredenogskuffelsenharlagtsig
In his update, he writes, moreover, that he is baffled by the decision, since the programme according to him has good number of listeners.

At DR, there is understanding of Silas’ frustration, but insists that the closure is a necessary consequence of the changed circumstances of DR, which among other things means that there must be saved 20 percent and closed several radio stations – including P8 Jazz.
– I can well understand that Silas is annoyed over the fact that the program only continues for the year, for it is a good program, as the listeners are happy. And Silas, and Stine has done a very good job in conveying the show, and I’m glad that they will give it full gas to the last, says Susanna Arpi, there are kanalredaktør for P2 and P8 Jazz, and continues:
When it anyway to close, so is it because the DR from next year will have some new conditions to work under. We need to save, and that means many changes. Among other things, to jazz-the music moves into P2, when the P8 Jazz closes. It is a big change for a channel, in which the core is classical music, and we need to implement some changes – among other things, at 18.00, where ‘The Sound of Musicals’.
Is it not strange, as Silas writes that you choose to close a program with a good number of listeners?
– the Program has quite a very good number of listeners compared to the P2. It is a program, as the listeners are happy, but when the jazz have to move into a classical channel, then it is going to have to be adjustments and changes, says Susanna Arpi.
