The Poniente University Hospital hosted last week a training session entitled ‘The Certification of Death: Legal and ethical Aspects’. It was organized in collaboration by the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences of Almeria. This activity was intended to improve the collaboration between the centers and to update the action protocols in the event of a patient’s death or to report on injuries or related to legal proceedings.

The training session was targeted primarily at experts in the field and professionals from the Citizen Service and Legal Advice Unit who are involved with the processes.

Pedro Acosta, the Poniente University hospital’s managing director, stated that this first meeting would strengthen the existing cooperation and will undoubtedly translate to better care for families as well as streamline legal procedures.
