Berchem The Grote Steenweg in Berchem was Sunday morning and partially closed to traffic after a a branch of Belfius a foreign substance was found in an atm machine. There was, to be sure, a safety zone set up.
“It seems that someone to the atm machine to manipulate,” says Sven Lommaert of the Antwerp Local Police. “There was a substance found in the vending machine. DOVO came on the spot to determine whether the explosive can went. That turned out not to be the case.” However, there were traces of an attempt to the vending machine to crack, but that didn’t work out. The perpetrators would, inter alia, a grinding wheel used. There may be on camera a little more to see.
