For the vast majority of us it is a dream that come true if we one day hit the big jackpot in lotto, and millionerne rolls into account.

But for canadian Daniel Campbell developed lottedrømmen to a årelangt nightmare. In 2003, he bought a coupon at a kiosk in a suburb of the canadian city of Toronto.

The coupon he won five new lottery tickets, but when he went down in the same kiosk to check to see if he had won some canadian dollars, he got only four tokens back.

The last coupon had the 68-year-old father to kioskejeren and his 36-year-old daughter secretly kept. It was in fact the father of kioskejeren, Jun-Chul Chung, so that there was a staggering gain of well 62 million dollars on vinderkuponen.

The 68-year-old got his daughter to redeem the prize, while Daniel Campbell went and wondered where the last coupon was actually gone.

A few months later he got the answer. A detective from the Ontario Lotto and Gaming discovered that Kathleen Chung, the daughter who had redeemed the prize, was the sister of the owner of the kiosk where the ticket was issued.

the Matter ended up before a judge, and now the whole family has been convicted of fraud. Father to seven years in prison, while the daughter will get off with four years behind bars. The son, who owns the kiosk, has got a sentence of ten months.

Daniel Campbell has, in turn, finally got his big millon-win.

– I’m really happy. It is great for me and my family, as I now can help. I’m a little overwhelmed, very overwhelmed, in fact, he said the upstairs of the judgment according to the BBC.

And there is much to be happy. Daniel Campbell has not only scored its 62 million dollars, but also interest for more than ten years.

He has, however, chosen to share his prize with six colleagues, he had the game on behalf of.

the Case is from the Toronto suburb of Burlington is far from unique in Canada. The canadian authorities estimate, therefore, that over the past thirteen years has been tampered for up to a billion dollars in similar cases.
