FC Nordsjælland reports that Flemming Pedersen takes over Kasper Hjulmands job as head coach of the club for the summer.

Flemming Pedersen has not previously been the head coach at the highest level. He has been a trainer in Elsinore and was for a time employed as an assistant in both Mainz and Brentford, where Thomas Frank today is the head coach.

Flemming Pedersen returned home to FC Nordsjælland 1. January 2017, where he the past two years has been the technical director.

Now he takes a step up the ladder as the club’s new manager from 1. July.

– We have been thorough in our search for the right replacement, and we have had the clear priority to be able to continue with both our clear long-term strategy and the daily work of the entire sporting sector of the club. Therefore, Flemming has been our clear first choice all the way through.

– No one has had a bigger fingerprint on the way we do things in FCN, and no one has a better overview and knowledge about everything that is made around our academies and major league teams. He is one of the country’s largest and most innovative fodboldhjerner, and we are very pleased that Flemming has the desire to lift the great task, says the team he will play Carsten V. Jensen to the club’s website.

the 55-year-old Flemming Pedersen has previously held the responsibility as the ITU president, (A+ coach and first team coach in the FCN, where he has helped to win two cup titles and a championship.

– I was actually not in doubt that here was a task that I would like to take on me, when I was asked. Think to get the opportunity to work with so many talented young players and have the daily responsibilities on the training field.

– This is what my heart burns for. The culture of the FCN is already a big part of my life, and I feel a great obligation to further develop the club and soccer ball here, along with the many talented people around me, ” says Flemming Pedersen.

the Appointment of Flemming Pedersen as the head coach is a little a line in the bill for Kasper Hjulmand, who for many years has worked very closely with Flemming Pedersen.

He took him for instance to Mainz, as Hjulmand in a period of eight months, was the head coach in the German Bundesliga-club.

It was also in the air that Flemming Pedersen could keep up with it, when Hjulmand change jobs for the summer.

But now comes the Kasper Hjulmand to stand on its own legs, when he must walk with a new challenge from next season. Kasper Hjulmand will be out to find a new, loyal assistant, because Flemming Pedersen probably not have been able to wait on how long it would take before Hjulmand has his future in place.

For Flemming Pedersen, there was now a possibility, he could not say no to.

It is uncertain how long the contract with Flemming Pedersen runs. FC Nordsjalland have not wanted to inform about Flemming Pedersen is employed on a funktionæraftale, or whether there is a åremålsansættelse.
