Yet another case of poor administration in the fisheries sector see the light of day.
fisheries minister Eva Kjer Hansen (V) informed on Wednesday, in closed consultations, that there is suspicion of inappropriate case management within the award of the generationsskiftesild.
It covers the map told of a scheme that ensures new fishermen access to herring, i.e. a succession.
– We are in the time with the clean-up and recovery, and so it is that there will be more corpses out of the cabinets, as we tackle, ” says Eva Kjer Hansen.
the Case is about a simple fisherman who seems wrongly to have been granted a derogation on quotas of Agricultural and Fiskeristyrelsen.
the Case was, according to Eva Kjer Hansen finalised in the autumn of 2016, but the investigation to go further back.
the fishing quotas for generationsskiftesildene in the individual case can, according to the fiskeriministeren having a value of up to approximately a million dollars, if they have been used fully.
– It seems that the decision is not taken on a proper basis, there is a case of improper handling, she says.
Eva Kjer Hansen reports that it is too early to say anything about whether the case could have consequences for the employee who has given the waiver.
In the first instance cases within the area in the past five to six years is turned upside down.
– I expect that over the course of a relatively short time have an answer to, if there are similar cases, she says.
During the fiskeriordfører, Simon Kollerup, fear that more similar cases could emerge in the course of a short time.
He will have Eva Kjer Hansen, to convene a meeting in order to explain the political parties, how the parties must have confidence in the “fisheries management, where the skeletons will topple out of the closet”.
– I think, then, that the citizens of Denmark, who hear about these cases, one must take care to head and ask themselves the question, how there can be so careless management, he says.
the Administration of the fisheries sector, the past few years been heavily criticized by both The auditor general and the Attorney general, which is the government’s principal lawyer.
Last fall launched a study to uncover how the exemptions to the trawl fishery in the Limfjord has been administered.
Agricultural and Fiskeristyrelsen was set up in 2011, but by 2017, divided up, so that today is Landbrugsstyrelsen and Fiskeristyrelsen.
