at The age of 108 years, has died, a resistance fighter, Georges Loinger, during the German occupation in France hundreds of Jewish children saved the life of. The French Foundation for the memory of the Shoah, acknowledged Loinger at the weekend as an “exceptional person, whose fights will remain in the memory”. According to their data, he died on Friday.
Loinger was born in August 1910 in Strasbourg as the son of a Jewish Orthodox family. He was Chairman of the Association of the Jewish resistance in France (ARJF), and commander of the Legion of honor.
in 1940, he received as a prisoner of war in Bavaria, a letter from his wife, ran a home, with 125 Jewish children whose parents were arrested in 1938 in Hitler’s Germany. Then Loinger fled back to France, he proposed to his wife in La Bourboule, in the Département of Puy-de-Dôme in the free part of the country.
