One of the most unique events in the Metropolitan Area is the San Juan de Huetor Vega bonfire. It is also held at the Municipal Fairgrounds which, unlike the events on the coast of Granada makes it a fire “in high places”. Another example of normality being restored is the return of the San Juan night in Huetena, which has been confirmed by the Department of Fiestas.

Festival of San Juan de Huetor Vega begins this June 23rd at the fair at 9:30 p.m. La Jaula, a musical group known for their renditions of Spanish pop rock classics of the eighties and nineties and even their own songs dating back to over two decades ago, has scheduled a concert.

Elisa Gonzalez Pedraza is the Councilor for Festivals of the Huetor Vega City Council. The San Juan bonfire is a tradition that “welcomes summer.” She notes that everyone is looking forward to a fun night with friends and family, and this year they are even more keen to enjoy a night out. She emphasizes that there are many activities to choose from.
