Berlin is attracting more and more people find in Berlin a Job, leave their domicile but rather in another state. As an evaluation of the Federal employment Agency shows that an increase in the number of Berlin-commuters since 2013, 321,000 people. This represents an increase of 24.5 percent. The proportion of Commuters of all employees is at 21.7 percent. Thus, every fifth employee comes from outside.

The commuter growth is even greater than the increase in the number of total employees at the business location of Berlin: in the same period, the number of employees grew by about 248.000 to 1.4 million.

The booming Start-up scene makes Berlin an attractive location

“The economy has been growing in Berlin in the past years, more than in the Rest of the country. The power of now is also felt on the labour market,“ commented Matthias Loke, speaker of the Federal employment Agency in Berlin – Brandenburg, the development. “It is striking that people commute not only from the Region but from all over the country to the capital.” As the boom of the evidence at the end of the Start-up scene developing in Berlin for more and more workers to an attractive location.
